Another 10-mile hike. We started at the Sycamore Canyon Trailhead and took the Sycamore Canyon Fire Road. We then took Serrano Canyon Trail which led us to a lush green valley. We went up a peak and came down it via Serrano Loop, got back on the Serrano Valley Trail. We went north to Old Boney Trail and took that to Sycamore Canyon Fire Road. We saw a large rattle snake on the side of the Old Boney Trail. It even shook its rattle before it slithered back in its hole. We took Sycamore Canyon Fire Road northeast to the campground where we had lunch. We returned along Sycamore Canyon Fire Road until we got to the Wood Canyon Vista Trail. We took this trail to the Overlook Fire Road then onto the Scenic Trail which took us back to our cars. The temperature was in the 50's with a slight hint of a marine layer when we started. On the way back, it was sunny with the temperature in the 70's. On the whole, it was a great day for hinking.
